13. Vintage Book Page Botanical Prints

13

Breathe new life into damaged, unreadable vintage books by turning their yellowed, typography-filled pages into artistic backdrops for botanical prints. The contrast of crisp black plant silhouettes or colorful watercolor illustrations against historic printed text creates an eye-catching, moody aesthetic that fits seamlessly into traditional and eclectic home decor schemes.

Carefully remove pages from an old book using a sharp utility knife and a ruler. Prepare your botanical imagery: you can hand-paint silhouettes directly onto the pages using black India ink and fine brushes, perform transfers using gel medium, or print high-resolution public domain botanical illustrations directly onto the book pages using a standard inkjet printer. Ensure you trim the paper edges cleanly or leave them deckled for extra character. Mount these finished vintage prints inside clean, dark-wood frames with wide white mats. Grouping three or four of these framed prints together creates a stunning wall grid in entryways or reading nooks.
