19. Terrarium of Terror with Miniature Gravestones

19

If you love houseplants, bring them into your Halloween decor by creating a “Terrarium of Terror.” This project transforms a standard glass terrarium, moss jar, or greenhouse cabinet into a miniature, overgrown cemetery. It is a delightful, creative way to showcase your green thumb while embracing the spooky, decaying beauty of the autumn season.

Take a large glass jar or geometric terrarium and layer charcoal, soil, and lush green moss at the bottom. Craft tiny, miniature gravestones out of grey polymer clay, using a toothpick to carve names, dates, or cracks into the surface before baking. Once baked, brush them with a dark wash of black paint to make them look weathered. Arrange the tiny tombstones in the moss, add a miniature bare branch to look like a dead tree, and place a tiny plastic skeleton hand emerging from the soil.
