10. Dried Flower Skull Centerpiece

10

Combine the macabre with the beautiful by crafting a floral skull centerpiece. This project takes a standard, frightening plastic skull and softens it with an abundance of dried florals, eucalyptus, and dark berries. It is a stunning, artistic statement piece that looks incredible on a vanity, desk, or as a focal point on a bookshelf, blending the concept of life and death.

Purchase a hollow plastic or styrofoam skull and paint it in a matte chalk finish—either bone white, charcoal black, or deep navy. Using a utility knife, carefully cut away the top portion of the skull’s cranium to create an opening. Insert a block of floral foam inside the cavity. Arrange a mix of dried baby’s breath, dark purple roses, preserved eucalyptus, and bunny tails into the foam, letting some vines spill over the eye sockets for a beautifully overgrown, forgotten garden aesthetic.
