Popsicle Stick and Yarn Webs
This classic crafting activity is a staple for a reason: it is incredibly satisfying to make and looks wonderfully rustic hanging in a window or on a bedroom door. To construct these charming webs, you will need three popsicle sticks for each web, some hot glue (handled by an adult) or craft glue to secure the sticks in a star shape, and various colors of yarn. Once the wooden frame is dry, tie a piece of yarn to the center joint. Show your children how to wrap the yarn around each stick once before moving on to the next one, working their way outward in a spiral pattern. This repetitive wrapping motion is highly therapeutic and helps children develop spatial awareness and rhythm. You can use traditional white yarn, or opt for variegated Halloween blends featuring orange, black, and purple. Tie off the end with a small loop, and you have an instant hanger. Add a small plastic spider or a homemade pom-pom spider to the center to complete the cozy, handmade look.
