Giant Spiders and Spun Webs
Command attention from the entire neighborhood by turning the exterior of your home into the hunting ground of a giant, predatory arachnid. Construct a massive spider using a large black trash bag stuffed with leaves or bubble wrap for the body, and long, flexible black foam pipe insulation tubes for the legs. Insert heavy-duty bendable wire inside the foam tubes so you can shape the legs with realistic, creepy joints that grip your roofline, porch railings, or window frames. Secure the spider high on your house facade as if it is crawling down toward your front door.
No giant spider is complete without an equally impressive web. Use thick white chenille yarn or outdoor rope to weave a massive, intricate web stretching from your roof gutters down to the lawn or nearby trees. Weave smaller, realistic plastic spiders and faux-cocooned victims made of white sheets wrapped in stretch wrap into the web lines. When illuminated by a sharp purple or UV spotlight, the white rope will glow intensely, making your house look like a scene from a classic creature feature.
