5. Pinecone Spiders with Pipe Cleaners

Find medium-sized, open pinecones and shake out any loose dirt. Cut four long, black chenille pipe cleaners in half to create eight spider legs. Wrap each pipe cleaner around the center of the pinecone, securing it between the scales, and bend the ends outward and downward to look like jointed legs. Glue a cluster of colorful googly eyes to the flat base of the pinecone, which now serves as the spider’s face. You can suspend these creepy-crawlies from the ceiling with clear thread or perch them along your mantelpiece.
