16. Shaving Cream Marbleized Monsters
Dive into a messy, sensory-rich art experience with marbleized paper monsters. This process-art technique uses shaving cream and food coloring to create gorgeous, swirling, one-of-a-kind patterns that kids can cut into silly, multi-eyed monster shapes.
Fill a shallow baking tray with a thick layer of white shaving cream. Drip neon food coloring or liquid watercolors over the top, and use a toothpick or paint paintbrush handle to swirl the colors into beautiful patterns. Press a sheet of white cardstock flat onto the shaving cream, then lift it up and scrape off the excess cream with a ruler to reveal the marbled print beneath. Once dry, cut the marbled paper into wacky monster bodies and decorate them with cardstock horns, teeth, and plenty of googly eyes.
