8. Contact Paper Leaf Sun Catchers
Sun catchers are a magical way to capture the beautiful, warm autumn light filtering through your windows. Using clear contact paper makes this craft accessible for toddlers, as it eliminates the need for messy liquid glue. Toddlers can easily press colorful autumn leaves and tissue paper squares directly onto the sticky surface. Hanging the finished product in a sunny window provides a beautiful visual reward, showing how light interacts with different colors and opacities.
Cut out a large leaf shape from a piece of cardboard, then cut out the center to create a leaf-shaped frame. Peel the backing off a piece of clear contact paper and stick the cardboard frame onto it. Give your toddler a bowl of colorful autumn leaves, pressed flowers, and small squares of red, orange, and yellow tissue paper. Let them press these items onto the sticky contact paper inside the frame. Once filled, seal the back with another piece of contact paper, trim the edges, and tape it to a sunny window.
