Every toddler loves to play pretend, and what better way to encourage imaginative play than by helping them make their own autumn nature crown? This outdoor-indoor craft begins with a nature walk to collect fallen treasures and ends with your toddler wearing a beautiful, crown of leaves. It fosters a deep connection with nature, encourages physical activity, and makes your toddler feel like the king or queen of the autumn forest.
Measure your toddler’s head and cut a strip of sturdy brown cardstock to fit, leaving a few inches of overlap. Lay the strip flat and apply a long piece of double-sided tape or a thick layer of glue across the length of it. During your nature walk, let your toddler choose their favorite colorful leaves, small feathers, and flat flower petals. Back home, have them press their treasures onto the sticky tape. Staple the ends of the cardstock together to form a crown, and let the royal autumn adventures begin.
