16. Apple Print Garland
Apples are not just for eating—they also make fantastic, natural stamps! An apple print garland is a wonderful way to decorate your home for the fall season while giving your toddler a fun, repetitive printing activity. Stamping with real fruit is a great sensory experience, and stringing the finished prints together into a garland teaches toddlers about patterns, sequencing, and home decoration.
Cut a few apples in half vertically (from stem to blossom) to reveal the beautiful star pattern inside. Dry the cut surface with a paper towel. Put red, green, and yellow paint on a flat plate. Let your toddler dip the cut side of the apple into the paint and stamp it onto sturdy white paper. Once the prints are dry, cut them out and help your toddler thread them onto a piece of rustic twine using a plastic yarn needle, creating a beautiful festive garland.
