This paper plate candy corn craft is highly visual and helps toddlers practice recognizing and organizing colors in a specific sequence. It is a simple, low-prep project that utilizes materials you likely already have in your pantry and craft closet, making it perfect for a rainy autumn afternoon.
Cut a standard paper plate into triangular wedges, which naturally look like candy corn shapes. Draw two curved lines across each wedge to divide it into three sections. Set out three small bowls containing white, orange, and yellow paint, along with three paintbrushes. Guide your toddler to paint the top tip of the wedge white, the middle section orange, and the bottom curved edge yellow. For an extra tactile experience, you can have them glue yellow, orange, and white pom-poms onto the matching sections.
