7. Distressed Book Page Pumpkin Garland
Repurpose damaged, yellowed vintage books into a gorgeous, rustic pumpkin garland perfect for a cozy mantel display. Tear out several dozen pages from an old book. Fold each page accordion-style, then fold the accordion in half and secure the center with a staple or wire to create a circular fan shape. Trim the edges into a rounded pumpkin silhouette. Use a sponge to apply distress ink or watered-down brown paint to the edges of the paper to emphasize the vintage, weathered look. Glue a small piece of real tree branch to the top of each paper circle to serve as a stem, and tie a piece of green raffia or twine around it. String the paper pumpkins along a thick piece of jute twine to hang across your fireplace or bookshelf.
