5. Haunted Mirror with Ghostly Apparitions
Give an old, ornate thrift store mirror a terrifyingly elegant upgrade. Clean the glass thoroughly, then spray a light mist of water mixed with vinegar onto the surface. Immediately spray a thin layer of looking glass mirror spray paint over the water droplets. As the paint dries, it will react with the water, creating a distressed, mercury-glass effect. Before the paint dries completely, place a printed, reversed image of a vintage ghostly figure or a Victorian portrait on the back of the glass, gently scraping away small sections of the mirror paint where you want the figure to peer through. When flipped over, the ghostly image will appear to be trapped deep within the foggy, antique glass, creating a chilling optical illusion.
