12. Concrete Head Planters
Create a hauntingly beautiful garden display with concrete planters cast from plastic doll heads or styrofoam mannequin heads. Cut open the top of a hollow plastic mannequin head to create an opening for plants. Coat the inside with cooking spray to act as a release agent, then fill the head with mixed concrete. Insert a plastic cup into the center of the wet concrete to create a planting cavity, securing it with tape so it doesn’t float up. Once the concrete is fully cured, peel away the outer plastic mold. The resulting planter will have a rugged, stone-carved appearance. Plant trailing ivy, creeping fig, or spiky air plants inside to look like wild, living hair growing from the head.
