Pinecone Spiders

16

Bring the outdoors inside with these adorable, textured pinecone spiders. Gather open pinecones from your yard or a local park. Cut brown or black pipe cleaners in half to create eight legs. Wrap four pipe cleaners around the center of the pinecone, wrapping them around the core so they are secured by the natural scales, and bend the ends downward to look like jointed spider legs. Glue a cluster of googly eyes to the flat base of the pinecone, which now serves as the spider’s head. These little creatures look wonderfully rustic nestled in potted plants or perched on bookshelves.
