2. The Frozen Pond Rink
This one’s basically free if you’ve got a frozen pond nearby. I cleared the snow off the ice, smoothed out the edges, and put a low wooden fence around it so nobody skates off into the trees. It looks natural — the pond’s already a perfect oval, and the reeds and spruce trees do the decorating. I hung a few lanterns from the trees and added a small dock with a bench. It’s my favourite place to just glide around when the sun’s going down.
