8. The Cliffside Observatory

If you’ve got a dramatic cliff, use it. I built a small observatory right on the edge of a snowy cliff, with the telescope pointing out over the valley. The building itself is small — stone bricks, a glass front, a flat roof you can stand on — but the view does all the work. A staircase carved into the cliffside, lanterns every few steps — falling off in the dark is not the vibe.
