5. The Cozy Cabin Observatory
Sometimes you don’t want a grand tower. You want a cabin. Mine is spruce wood and stone, with a slanted roof, a chimney that actually smokes, and a big glass window that faces north. Inside there’s a bed, a fireplace, a brewing stand for warm drinks, and a telescope by the window. A roof hatch opens onto a flat viewing platform, so on clear nights I climb up with a wool carpet and just sit there.
