9. Ghostly Yarn Lanterns
Light up the dark autumn nights with ethereal ghostly yarn lanterns that cast beautiful, eerie shadows across your walls. To create these glowing specters, inflate small balloons to your desired size. In a shallow bowl, mix equal parts of school glue and water. Dip white cotton yarn into the glue mixture, ensuring it is thoroughly saturated. Wrap the wet yarn around the balloon in various directions, leaving plenty of open spaces for light to shine through. Hang the balloons to dry overnight. Once the yarn is completely stiff and dry, pop the balloon with a pin and carefully extract it through one of the gaps. Use black felt to cut out spooky eyes and mouths and glue them to the front of the yarn spheres. Place a battery-operated LED tealight inside each lantern to watch them glow with a soft, haunting light.
