11. Whimsical Yarn Mummy Mason Jars
Upcycle your empty glass jars into glowing, whimsical mummy lanterns. This project is incredibly eco-friendly and takes less than fifteen minutes to complete. Clean your glass jars thoroughly and remove any labels. Apply a small dab of hot glue near the rim of the jar and attach the end of some textured, off-white or cream-colored yarn. Wrap the yarn around the jar in a chaotic, overlapping pattern, leaving small gaps to mimic the haphazard wrapping of an ancient mummy. Secure the end of the yarn at the bottom of the jar. Glue two large googly eyes onto the jar, peeking out from between the yarn wraps. Drop a battery-operated candle inside, and watch as the warm light flickers through the layers of yarn, creating a cozy and slightly spooky atmosphere.
