Inspired by Alpine traditions and detailed European folk costumes, this project dresses a simple paper roll in intricate, colorful traditional attire. This style relies on layering felt, ribbon, and delicate embroidery details to build up a rich, dimensional character. Paint the face section of the paper roll in a soft, smooth tone with sweet, cheerful facial expressions, rosy cheeks, and bright, curious eyes.
Wrap the body of the roll in green, red, or dark black felt to represent a traditional alpine vest or dirndl bodice. Glue micro-ric-rac trim, floral embroidered ribbon, and tiny brass buttons down the center front to simulate a detailed handcrafted costume. Cut sturdy ears from matching felt so they integrate smoothly into the outfit design. This adorable, fairytale-like character looks like a custom hand-carved collectible straight from an Alpine holiday village market.
