8. The Sunken Terrarium Courtyard Villa
The Sunken Terrarium Courtyard Villa reverses the concept of traditional mountain building by carving a massive, open-to-the-sky cylinder directly into a high mountain plateau, building the hobbit mansion in the surrounding ring walls. The exterior from above looks like a serene mountain meadow, but as players approach, the land drops away into a breathtaking vertical jungle terrarium packed with jungle trees, bamboo, and tropical flora.
The mansion’s rooms are built horizontally into the circular rock face surrounding the open pit, featuring floor-to-ceiling glass walls that look directly into the central terrarium. Curved spruce balconies extend from every room, allowing residents to walk out into the open air while remaining protected deep within the mountain footprint. Inside, the villa features light oak tones, smooth sandstone finishes, and extensive water features, including a multi-tiered waterfall that plunges from the mountain surface down to the terrarium floor, feeding an axolotl-filled lagoon.
