Start by thoroughly cleaning a large, ornate mirror. Print out a high-contrast silhouette of a ghostly figure or a pair of reaching hands. Place the cutout against the glass and lightly spray around it with frosted glass aerosol spray, creating a soft, misty vignette. Once dry, remove the paper template to reveal a clear silhouette surrounded by “fog.” For an added layer of depth, paint the frame of the mirror in a distressed matte black or antique gold, sanding down the edges to make it look like a haunted family heirloom that has witnessed centuries of secrets.
