9. Whimsical Indoor Playhouse Village

9

Nothing sparks a toddler’s sense of wonder quite like having a house of their very own sized down to their proportions. Constructing a custom indoor playhouse or pitching a built-in play cottage creates an immersive world within the room where endless storytelling can unfold.

Build or assemble a simple wooden frame house with a pitched roof, keeping it open and airy with window cutouts and a Dutch door. Decorate the interior of the playhouse with battery-operated fairy lights, a small floor cushion, and mini sheer curtains. Outside the house, create a miniature “village street” using a soft road rug where your toddler can drive wooden cars, visit a neighboring play tent, or deliver pretend mail to tiny wooden mailboxes mounted on the wall.
