10. Gothic Lace Lanterns
Cast intricate, dancing shadows across your walls with handmade gothic lace lanterns. These printable paper lanterns combine the delicate beauty of lace patterns with the stark, dramatic contrast of black silhouettes. Featuring motifs of spiderwebs, cathedral windows, and bats, these lanterns act as stunning centerpieces for dinner tables or atmospheric lighting for dark corners, safely housing flameless LED candles to create a warm, flickering glow.
Print the lantern templates onto thick black cardstock. Using a precision craft knife, carefully cut out the intricate lace patterns and window openings. On the inside of the lantern, glue panels of translucent vellum paper, which will diffuse the light and hide the artificial candle inside. Fold along the designated score lines and glue the side tabs together to form the lantern structure. Insert a battery-operated LED tea light or votive candle inside, and watch as the intricate gothic patterns project onto surrounding surfaces.
